Natural lifestyle has teamed up with experts at CNM (Collage of Naturopathic Medicine) to answer some of your burning health questions. This issue, you asked:

Is there homeopathic help for cystitis?

Yes, there are a many very good homeopathic remedies for cystitis. If you are prone to frequent bouts of this bladder infection I suggest that you consult a homeopath for individualized advice which can address the cause, which is always the most effective way to help prevent recurrence. Many people have found they become less susceptible to cystitis after homeopathic treatment.

For situations appropriate to self-help, see if your symptoms match one of the 3 homeopathic remedies listed below. Buy the remedy from a homeopathic pharmacy, in the 30c potency, and when you feel symptoms coming on, suck one pill under your tongue, 3 times per day, stopping on improvement. If symptoms do not start to improve within 6 hours of taking the first dose, consult a homeopath, or homeopathic pharmacy, or your GP.

Cystitis can lead to a kidney infection so consult a GP if you have blood in the urine, sharp pain around the kidney area, or additional or prolonged symptoms.
